Use any of these search engines to find your personal and public information on the Internet. If you decide the listings are inaccurate or unwanted you can take actions to update, correct or remove. Some of the directories will allow you to opt-out and remove your listings, but some may not. You may need to prove you are you buy sending in a form, a copy of your driver's license or other proof. This can vary from site to site.
When searching the Internet, make sure you are using an active anti-virus program so you're protected. You'll need protection just in case the site you visit is a "bad site" that's trying to send you malicious software (aka a virus) that can steal your personal information or disable your computer. Some of the anti-virus programs keep track of known "bad sites" and stop you from entering when you click on a "known bad site" link. I use Vipre from ThreatTrack Security. It monitors your page requests against a list of "known bad sites" and a warning message is displayed when you try to go to a risky page. It's a must to have your anti-virus active when you find a listing and click on the link. If you happen to get a virus while you're scouering the Internet, that can really ruin your day, or worse. Definitely not the desired outcome.
